Chapter One
It was the month before Christmas, and I was a thinkin' In my little house of the problems of linking. Of all those countries from the East to the West, All around the great earth, to the ground where we rest. Of making Christmas a gigantic feast, Everyone is invited from the greatest to the least. Be it king, or a prince, or a baby so small, They are all invited to my party, so let's have a ball!
Everyone will be happy, and go hand in hand, And travel the globe to find a special land. So that one special day in a year that's so long Would be a global holiday, and everyone would belong. In the spirit of laughter and love in the air People could be united, and learn how to care.
For neighbours and family, not just on your street. You can see them everyday, it's not such a feat. Join up and meet people you've not seen before. All kinds, and all nations, we will have an open door.
Put down all the bombs, and ban all the fights, And for one joyous day find some peace in the lights Of the candles and stars that will light up the globe, All the singing and dancing will light up your ear lobes. Everyone will be happy at this global bash, And the rich will join hands and give out the cash. No one will be hungry or thirst on that day. The poor and the needy will gladly say, "We have a new global Santa, a person so rare On one special day he came on the air.
On the satellite screen, he zoomed around in space And gave cheer and great peace to each and every race." He spoke all the languages, and had gifts for all. He had done all his orders and shopping by fall. He did not forget little Kito in Japan, Or Jamie or Freeda off the coast of Siam. What a mind he must have, what a talent so rare To give gifts to children, he goes everywhere.
What does he do with the leftover toys? Have a huge January sale, or find other girls and boys. Now those who do not have a mom or a dad Need not worry with this special dad. He will take care of your needs on this special day, You will be so happy, and say, "Hip Hip Hooray!" The toys and the magic for each little one Will be delivered safely, and done with such fun.
