Overview

Nick Sloan was the greatest private eye in the history of San Francisco, but tough times had his office growing cobwebs.
It looked like a lucky break when a bombshell named Elizabeth Burnett walked in with her tale of woe and misery.
Her $10,000 dollar retainer was as real as her cuts and bruises, especially since $5,000 was cash.
Back in 1980 that was a lot of cabbage.
Getting the dirt on his beautiful clients' business partners would be easy; one was a local real estate tycoon.
The other was Betty Bloomfield, but no one knew what had happened to Betty... it seemed she just disappeared
It was a snap to find the guy who raped Elizabeth, but he didn't have much to say, seeing how he was already dead.
With multiple millions of dollars at stake Sloan had his work cut out for him, but no matter what evidence he followed, he ended up on a blind alley or a dead end street.
It seemed to Sloan that he was always one step behind whoever was pulling the strings. It felt like he could take the rap.
The deeper he got, the more he realized that there was no escape.

About the Author

Suffice it to say, I'm old enough to know better than to spend all my days writing fiction and editing the same... but, that is what I do. Amassing an enormous body of work like what I have requires lots of time. It also requires an extremely fertile imagination. Guilty on both parts.

• A younger me was immersed in the study of guitar at, The School of Contemporary Music, Boston, MA.
• I studied Broadcast Communications at San Francisco State University: creative writing and Television Production.
• I'm a graduate of The Hollywood Film Institute at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
• As an indie producer I've written, and directed for radio, stage, television and the silver screen.
• I am natural born storyteller who has written 16 feature length screenplays, 9 novels and over fifteen short stories,
• The other day I came to the conclusion, I'm still just a pretty good hack. But to get to pretty good 'hack status', I had great teachers, studying with the likes of Professor Richard Walters (UCLA), screenwriter Shane Black: ‘Predator’ and ‘Iron Man Three'. I worked with the executive producers of both ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and ‘I-Robot'.

• In 2019 I became the only author, in the 52-year history of the Houston International Film Festival, to be awarded four coveted REMI Awards in a single awards night.
• My goal over the last 25 years is to learn and polish the craft of writing my tall tales into compelling stories, populated with unique characters and mix the cocktail with a spin on life in the big city of San Francisco.
