Overview

Philip May Gingrich was born in 1824 in Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ann Lukens in 1849 and they moved to neighboring Perry County, Pennyslvania. After Mary Ann's death in May of 1863, Philip married Elizabeth Jane Orwan in December of 1863. Philip moved his family to Callaway County, Missouri after the Civil War, probably with other families from the Juniata-Perry Counties area of Pennsylvania. Philip had a total of ten children. Most of the chiildren kept on West, with many of them settling in the Pacific Northwest. Some of the names affiliated with the Philip Gingrich group include: Crowe, Fader, Fricke, Gingrich, Kerr/Karr, Markel, Parrott, Sallee, Wallace, Wright.
