THE GIFT OF BEING DESIRED
"The gift of being desired", I recently heard Oprah utter these words to the Wade family. Dwayne and Gabrielle, who recently had a baby through a surrogate. As Oprah held the newborn those beautiful words poured from her lips. The minute I heard them I quickly took out my I-Pad and wrote them down. Somehow, they hit me deep in the gut. There is so much truth to those words, there's magic attached to them. And anyone who was blessed to be such, there is nothing in this world that could be compared, not money, not fame, and certainly not even the treasures of this world except eternity. The gift of being desired when I think about what these words mean it takes me back to a time in my life when I knew what it meant. I have felt it, I have experienced it. To be desired is one thing, and to be considered a gift is amazing, and that truly is a gift in itself. Before having those experiences, I had already spend most of my life searching for it. I remember what it felt like to be desired,

About the Author

My name is Anita Patricia White, I was nick named “Janet” growing up, and if I am referred to by that name now, I know It must be someone from my past. For the new people that I have acquired in my life, I always introduce myself as my given name. I have longed forgotten that name, but it’s still me and yes, I still answer to it.
I am the daughter of Veronica and Lloyd. Born in the year nineteen sixty-two, the year Jamaica got their independence from Britain. At five years old, I was given to my grandmother Rebecca and her husband Steven who took great interest in my parents’ gift to them in ensuring that I would never become a rebel. I was raised with fine qualities as if we were financially wealthy, but we were far from that. I must say, being raised with that belief, helped me to act and behave in ways that has served me well. Good manners were a must, the dinner table was set as if we were expecting visitors, but it was for us. We learned to use knives and forks every time we sat down to eat. We drank out of teacups with saucers, the dinner bell was rang, which is a sign that we were ready to eat. We did not go next door to our neighbors’ home, they were allowed to play with us outside our gate, but they were not allowed inside our home. I am sure there was a reason for my grandmothers strict rules but we never questioned her, at least I didn’t.
My greatest accomplishments … I am a mother of two beautiful souls Taneil and Dexter, grandchildren Jayden and Tristan.

My journey and my hobbies: a minister of the good news of Jesus Christ, poet, singer, speaker, actor, writer, makeup artist, personal stylist. With the publishing of this book now an author.

Thank you to the love of my life, my friend, my companion, Carl La Victor Hall.
