Overview

From Caldecott Medalist Arnold Lobel (1933-1987) comes a brand-new collection of rhyming stories about frogs and toads. Discovered by his daughter, Adrianne Lobel, The Frogs and Toads All Sang has the same warmth, compassion, and humor that is found in his best-loved work. Brimming with sweet silliness, this new book reminds us why Arnold Lobel's characters continue to be so popular years after debut.

About the Author

Arnold Lobel (1933–1987) illustrated many wonderful children’s books but is most beloved for his Frog and Toad stories, including the first one, Frog and Toad Are Friends, published in 1970. The books have garnered much acclaim, including a Caldecott Honor for Frog and Toad Are Friends and a Newbery Honor for Frog and Toad Together. These were followed by Frog and Toad All Year and Days with Frog and Toad.

Adrianne Lobel grew up to be a noted set designer who also produced the Broadway musical A Year with Frog and Toad. Adrianne's discovery of several of her father's handmade books illustrated in pen and ink for family and friends led to this new picture book. An artist herself, Adrianne added color to prints of her father's line art using watercolors and dyes. Adrianne lives with her daughter in New York City.
