Arndt fully dramatizes the challenges they both overcame without miring listeners in their pasts. Tae and her mother, April, are more like sisters than mother and daughter, and Arndt’s performance evokes April’s youthful vibrancy. Riggs has returned home to help his brother, a Wounded Warrior, with his adventure company aimed at other such veterans.
