Frederick Douglass was a 19th Century civil rights champion and abolitionist who left behind a tremendous written legacy. He was the author of My Bondage and My Freedom, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, and The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass. He also published two newspapers.
