About the Author

Amy Atwater is a palaeontologist (or a “librarian of rocks,” as she puts it). Under the banner of Mary Anning’s Revenge, she has amassed over 57,000 followers on Instagram. She also runs a blog of the same name with fellow palaeontologist Meaghan Emery-Wetherall. She gained a master’s in her field from the University of Texas and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Atwater’s passion for paleobiology, and how fossils can help us to understand the ecosystems of ancient history, has translated brilliantly onto social media, where her personality shines through, doubtlessly inspiring many young people simply looking for cool stuff about dinosaurs to take a deeper interest in the subject. French Uruguayan author and illustrator, born in Paris 1982 and based in Uruguay, Nat Cardozo graduated as Higher Technician in Plastic Arts and Design in Illustration at the Escola J. Serra i Abella in Barcelona in 2009. She has participated in exhibitions in Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, and Argentina, and has worked with several publishers on picture books and all kinds of publications, some of them of her own. Inspired by nature and world cultures, she enjoys exploring various traditional techniques such as acrylics, colored pencils, ink and watercolor, usually combining them with each other. Pyrography and embroidery are also included among her favorite techniques.
