About the Author

Shannon Bettridge is with the Law and Mental Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, Ontario. The program provides a continuum of care that includes assessment, treatment rehabilitation, security management, community supervision, consultation and specialty services.
Howard Barbaree, PhD, CPsych, spent eleven years as Clinical Director of the Law and Mental Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and three, five-year terms as Professor and Head of the Law and Mental Health Program at University of Toronto. He is currently focusing his time on writing and research initiatives, including an upcoming book on evidence-based practice in forensic mental health and a forensic supplement to the Resident Assessment Instrument for Mental Health (RAI-MH).
