The Initial Fold (Book 1)

What would you do if you materialised inside an alien starship?

It's 2049, and NASA-sponsored physicist Edward Virr is on the cusp of man's greatest breakthrough – the ability to fold space and travel faster than light.

He personally tests NASA's futuristic prototype fold ship with a hand-picked crew. But as disaster strikes the first mission, Ed begins to suspect that he isn't the only one developing the new technology.

Discovering there's a lot more at stake than first contact, Ed soon realises that Earth's very survival depends on his ability to solve a crime of galactic proportions.

The Andromedan Fold (Book 2)

The crew of your starship are being systematically slaughtered. What do you do?

The galaxies ruling council have lost two ships, thousands of light years distant on the outer fringe of the Milky Way. A civilian exploration vessel and the military ship sent to find it have disappeared without a trace.

Edward Virr and the crew of the sentient starship Gabriel are tasked with a mission to discover what happened.

They find, not only the two misplaced ships but a secret to intergalactic travel, the biggest invasion fleet ever assembled and a ruling alien race so cruel, it could end all of humankind.

The Messier Fold (Book 3)

To protect your family's secrets, how many people would you murder?

Planet Earth's first maximum security jail break involving a cloaked spacecraft necessitates Edward Virr and the crew of the sentient starship Gabriel to give chase.

Emboldened by the addition of Andrew's father, a retired FBI investigator, they pursue their quarry over 250 million light years through a recently discovered galactic gateway – and find themselves immediately fighting for survival.

Two races, at war for millennia over lust for power and greed, don't take kindly to strangers appearing in their midst and push our heroes' abilities so far, it culminates in an unspeakable tragedy.

About the Author

Nick Adams grew up in a small village near Maidstone in Kent, England and right from an early age was a fervent NASA, space and Apollo fan. After watching the first moon landing in 1969 and the subsequent moon missions that followed, he discovered science fiction books and cut his teeth reading Asimov, E. E. Doc Smith and Alan Dean Foster. In more recent times, Andy Weir and Peter F Hamilton to name but two, have joined them on the bookshelves.

After serving in the British Army for several years, Nick became a publican, managing and later owning his own village pubs for a number of years before moving to Brisbane in Australia where he began writing his own space opera, and the Fold series was born.

In late 2018 he returned to the UK, where the next adventures in the series evolved, along with the ‘Bache Loftt’ spin-off series.

Nick writes the kind of stories he would like to read. The Fold Series is set a little in the future and based around upcoming NASA technology. The series features normal everyday people put into extraordinary circumstances, with realistic reactions, humour and language. After all, nobody would say ‘oops’ if a 14km-long alien starship de-cloaked next to them.

Head over to his website to sign up to the Reader Group, and Nick will personally keep you up to date with his bi-monthly newsletters about what novels he’s currently reading, cover reveals, book launch dates and general progress on his current project.

Lastly, don't forget to leave a review if you enjoy the books. It only needs to be a few words and it helps spread the word about these exciting space opera stories.

A personal note from the author

Hi guys.

For the benefit of my awesome readers across the pond, all my novels are written in UK English and may include a few colloquialisms and spellings that you don’t recognise.

There is, understandably, considering the circumstances, a bit of swearing involved too. We do swear a bit in England. Just put it down to eccentricity, or our spirited Anglo-Saxon heritage.

Another strange trait we sometimes have is using humour in really stressful situations. It helps to keep us sane – just ask anyone who’s been on active service in the British Armed Forces.

Cheers everyone, and I hope you enjoy the stories.
