"The Five Finger Essay©" not only teaches students to write paragraphs and essays without all the hassles they've been used to, but it helps teenagers (and older students!) to write essays in the 25-minute time limit imposed by the SAT/ACT exams. The methods used are highly visual, kinesthetic, and color-coded, addressing the Linguistic and Logical/Mathematical Learning Styles very well, while making it simple enough for Special Education students to learn. About the Author

Johnnie W. Lewis is the self-taught author and illustrator of "The Five Finger Paragraph©" and "The Writing Police" series of books and Learning Aids.

As a child, Johnnie moved so often, as a Navy brat, that she missed many things. As a college freshman, she found out that one of the most important things missing from her education was how to write an essay. After failing one English course and almost failing it the second time, she suddenly realized one day in class, at the age of 24, HOW to format that essay to guarantee an "A"!! She never made less than an "A" on an essay or term paper ever again! Now, she teaches her method to students around the country, and homeschoolers around the world.

Johnnie W. Lewis speaks to small or large groups on a number of topics, including, but not limited to, her work in education.

She lives in Marietta, GA with her husband, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
