Life for fifteen years old, Emmanuel Anthony Wayne, has just gotten interesting. For starters, he gets into an unexpected fistfight in front of family and friends. His ego takes a heavy blow and his pride is crushed as a result of the humiliating defeat. The fight is symbolic of his relationship with his mother, Eva; tumultuous and one sided. The fight does more than shake his self-confidence; it weakens his faith in God.
