He then apologized to her if he had gotten out of line and excused himself and left the room. Chris truly felt drawn to Kevin. It was as if he felt the same sadness within that she did. She wanted to let him know that it was all right to show his interest in her, but at the same time she would make it perfectly clear that she was not going to take her mother's throwaways.

Soon, Chris became very comfortable around Kevin. They would goto the movies together and Kevin would help Chris with her school work. Kevin was very respectful toward Chris and made sure never to show her mother any affection in front of her.

Six months, had gone by since Kevin moved in and it was two weeks before Christmas. Chris's mother had become very jealous of their friendship, but at least with Kevin there the beatings had stopped for awhile.

It had been the first snowfall of the season and Kevin and Chris were getting ready to go out and play in it when she heard her mother call out her name in a very evil tone. As her mother looked at the both of them bundled up in their coats and scarfs, she became filled with jealously and rage.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"Kevin and I are just going right out front, to play in the snow."

"Oh no you're not. You think you can steal him away from me don't you?"

"It's not like that. We are just friends . . . nothing more."

With her hands around Chris's neck she slammed her up against the wall. Instantly, Chris could feel the pain run down her back and her neck begin to stiffen.

"You're not going anywhere with him. Tell me you little slut, how many times have you screwed him?"

As the tears began to roll down Chris's cheeks, she begged hermother to stop, but her mother felt no remorse and continued with her sick accusations.

"You're mad about us and we have never done anything, we're just friends!"

Sandy slapped Chris across the face and looked at her with such contempt.

"You're a liar. I see the way he looks at you and you just tease him all the time. You walk around this house as if you are the queen of it. You tease him with tight pants and lowcut shirts. But guess what? He's mine and you're not woman enough for him!"
