Overview

This is the first episode of The Eyes of Penn, an audio book series written and produced for listeners that experience cognitive decline.

If you are a caretaker seeking an audiobook for your loved one that is respectively made for an adult with mild to moderate dementia, this is for you.

In this first episode of The Eyes of Penn, the listener is introduced to the rock band called The Johnsons, the protagonist of our story.

The Johnsons are a group of four musicians, whose love for music and fellowship withstand the elusive goal of commercial success. In just trying to make a living playing music, they find themselves being tested; having to stand up to powerful forces that collide with their world. A collision that occasionally require the members of the band to tap into hidden powers.

This audiobook series seeks to provide caretakers with a hidden power as well. An alternative audio - designed, written and produced with their cognitively challenged loved ones in mind. For example, an elderly listener may have challenges with concentration, or perhaps unable or unwilling to fully read a book themselves.

These audio books seek to bridge these gaps, and deliver caretakers with some much-needed down time, while their loved one is being read a story.

Chapters are short (2-3 minutes long), contain summaries and music interludes between chapters are played. These are just a few of the applied techniques designed to keep the attention of a cognitively challenged listener, stimulate the imagination and deliver sustained entertainment.
