Overview

Journey Navers finds herself in a terrifying nightmare, her life. During her waking hours, a spirit of a young girl reaches out to help her, but Journey doesn't know why, or who she is.
In the Eye of Lies Journey retells her life story, one that haunts her. Determined to seek the truth behind her nightmarish dreams of murder, she learned her existence is a lie, and from her earliest memory, the truth isn't always right. Another lie, a teardrop falls. Sometimes your eyes bleed lies to hurt; sometimes they bleed lies to protect.

Abused by their parents, Journey's brother, James, is hurt and then goes missing. In her effort to find out what happened to him she confronts her parents. Her father in an all-out rage, rapes her. Two months later, pregnant, Journey runs away.

Befriended by a woman at a church who introduced herself as a social worker who could help, Journey trust the woman and goes with her to a shelter. Years later, she discovered the woman, whom she thought of as mother, withheld vital information. More than Journey could ever imagine.

She gave up her baby for adoption. How could she possibly love a child that came from hatred? On constant guard of her parents finding her and knowing of the birth of a child she continuously looked in the shadows for the man she called father. But when she sees the newspaper headline; RAKESVILLE SHERIFF MISSING - BODY FOUND. Journey returns to her hometown of Rakesville, once there she unravels more mysteries to her past when she uncovered bones buried within a wall, and a teen boy who claimed to be her missing brother. Journey is lead to believe what her therapist said might be true. If the nightmare is a memory.

The finding of a small key leads her to a closet where a tin box is wedged under the floorboard. The contents in the box revealed a bigger secret about who she is as the spirit of the girl appeared before her. Chills raked her spine in the gruesome discovery about the murder that took place that Christmas night.

Finally happy and able to put to rest the nightmare and move on with her life, Journey married her longtime boyfriend, Mason Walters. As they turn to walk down the aisle as man and wife, Journey sees a familiar man holding the hand of a small boy walk out the church doors. Sheriff Earl Navers.
