Overview

This book is made up of amazing true stories of people of all sorts buying and selling Northern California Country property in the 1960's and 1970's. The pathos of the interaction of unique characters will make you laugh and then cry. Here is danger, sensitivity, love and hate. Woody Wilson tells stories that will grip your heart and keep you prisoner to the text to the very end. Here you will read about an artist whose two pet cheetahs escaped and ran loose through the Mendocino National Forest. You will meet a woman who masqueraded as her own sister. You’ll come face to face with a jeepful of outraged hunters, one of whom points his rifle menacingly while demanding an explanation for this intrusion on their hunting grounds. There are rattlesnakes, skunks, a couple who talk constantly and simultaneously, and a host of interesting characters.

About the Author

Woody Wilson spent 25 years scouring the backwoods of Mendocino and Lake counties in Northern California for country property to sell, as a broker with United Farm Agency. He had grown up in a lawless section of Oklahoma, which prepared him to face many unique Characters in the course of his work. It was, however, not only the ranchers that were so colorful; Remarkable buyers also came looking for their dream property. Woody describes the interaction of disparate characters in a compelling, yet truthful manner. As of this date (12/2010)woody is 96 years old and still tells a good story.
