About the Author

William Blades (1824–1890) was an English bibliographer, writer, and book collector. Brought into publishing through his father’s printing business, he took an interest in William Caxton and became well known as a collector and preserver of the works of the British printer. He is the author of The Life and Typography of William Caxton.
