About the Author

John A. Booth, associate professor of political science at the University of Texas at San Antonio, has written extensively on political violence in Latin America and is acquainted with Nicaraguans on all sides of the conflict. Research for this volume was conducted while he was a Fulbright lecturer in international relations at the National Autonomous University of Costa Rica.
