Overview

Vision behind the book:
Reading a book in a language that you are not fluent in can be an experience that is both exhilarating and intimidating at the same time. Two of the biggest challenges are differentiating between similar-looking letters and remembering the sounds of all the letters. This book takes all the stress out of those challenges by using an age-old memory tool called storytelling.
This book tells a nice little story about each letter of the alphabet based on the shape of the letter; each story creates a memory association between the letter shape and its sound. There are supporting animals next to each letter to illustrate the sound further. For convenience, summary boxes are at the bottom of each page for quick reference. In addition, the book offers self-quiz questions and matching worksheets at the back to further reinforce these phonics and memory associations.
The goal is that when the reader comes across the letter, he/she can recall which fair attraction the book compared it to, its story, and its sound. To make this goal possible, just enjoy the enchanting story, fun rhymes, and eye-catching illustrations enough times. Your mind will do the rest.

About the Author

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, before making the leap to the USA, I’ve always held the belief that learning should be fun, packed with nuggets of wisdom, exciting tales, and real-life teachings. From creating a book exchange with my cousin as a kid to sending in stories to the children’s section of the newspaper, when I wasn’t busy, I adored getting my hands on a new book.
I got into teaching from a very young age thanks to my mom. After spending many hours pretending to teach my teddy bear and my 1 doll as a child, she encouraged me to take my passion and teach students who were a grade or two behind me for an hour each day. I gained experience with children to whom learning didn’t come very easily, and with an older brother who is autistic, I got pretty good at finding unorthodox ways to teach the same concept to different people.
I have made many short stories for my three children over the years, with The Enchanted Fair representing the first one set to be showcased to the world. I have poured my heart and soul into this book, and I humbly hope that you and your child have as much fun with it as I had creating it.
