The Elements of Reconstruction
This book contains a series of articles contributed to "The Times" in July and August of 1916. Due to their originality and depth of view, the articles deeply interested H. G. Wells, who collected them into this volume. The articles are primarily concerned with modern law and its creation in a post-WWI society, and will appeal to those with an interest in law and post-WWI society. Contents include: "Introduction", "Science in education and industry", "Scientific agriculture and the nation's food", "The long view and labour", "Problems of political adaptation", "An imperial constitution", and "Higher education in the empire". Herbert George Wells (1866 - 1946) was a prolific English writer who wrote in a variety of genres, including the novel, politics, history, and social commentary. Today, he is perhaps best remembered for his contributions to the science fiction genre thanks to such novels as "The Time Machine" (1895), "The Invisible Man" (1897), and "The War of the Worlds" (1898). Although never a winner, Wells was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature a total of four times. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. H.G. Wells (1866–1946), born Herbert George Wells, was an English author known for not only his popular science fiction books but also works of social commentary, history and biography. His first novel, The Time Machine, was published in 1895. Socially progressive and visionary in intellect, H.G. Wells became one of the most prolific writers of his generation. Through books like The Invisible Man, The Island of Doctor Moreau, and War of the Worlds, Wells delved into a plethora of social, philosophical and political ideas through the medium of what we now call science fiction.
