Covers issues such as poverty among the elderly (particularly women), "life-long learning" and training for older workers, pension privatization, disability insurance, and generational conflicts. This latest edition (written over two decades after the original) reflects the author's (Brandeis U.) opinion that the recent push for "privatization" of pensions "is likely to lead to social insecurity, not social security."
