In the year 2029 the Diseased roam the earth. A virus contaminated the entire human population, leaving few survivors. Seventeen year-old Hazel and her little brother Zach have been on the move for five years from the diseased. After losing their parents, their only hope is an arena rumored to house a military base that offers food and shelter.When Josh finds Hazel and her brother and brings them to the base, everything seems to be perfect. Hazel and Josh become close and Zach makes a best friend, but soon Hazel finds out what the army arena really is, a deadly experiment controlled by a scientist named James.
