About the Author

Poet, producer and published author are just some of the titles Asia Monay holds. Early on Asia experienced many hardships and battled against mental illness that drove her to be hospitalized several times for attempted suicides. In her darknesses was birthed the desire to write poetry. What started as a therapeutic hobby has transformed into a mission to reach those who struggle with similar trials. In “The Death and Rebirth of Little Angels” Asia depicts through poetry life circumstances that she, and others she knows have struggled to overcome but somehow made it to the other side of “spiritual death” which is rebirth.

Although Asia Monay’s childhood could be described as ugly by most, this Detroit native has fought relentlessly to take back what’s hers. She has reclaimed her peace, by cultivating art through poetry of which has been critically acclaimed.
