An author and businesswoman, Baseerat Javed drew inspiration from her lively childhood in India when she wrote "The Curse of the Cat's Eye," bringing to life many of the stories and myths that she heard from her grandmother growing up in Hyderabad. She currently lives in Virginia with her husband, a psychiatrist, and enjoys visits from her three adult children who are lawyers. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, running her Indian spices company, and playing with her grandchildren.
