The Country Doctor

Overview

Dr. Benassis, a compassionate and conscientous physician has chosen to practice medicine in a small village. Genestas, a retired soldier from a nearby military garrison, takes up lodging with the local doctor and comes to respect him as much as the villagers do. The doctor eventually imparts the secrets of his buried past and Genestas asks him to care for his sickly adopted son.
