About the Author

Joel Willer is the fifth great grandson of Conrad and Judith Hentzel. He began this study with curiosity about the life of Conrad Hentzel, including why and when he migrated to Sandusky County, Ohio, and about who were his ancestors. Conrad's grave located in the Hineline Cemetery in Rice Township, Sandusky County, had offered a modest reminder of the man, but provided virtually nothing of his life story. Published family and local histories had profiled some of his children, but nary a mention had been made of the father.
