Join in the hijinks and hilarious escapades of teenager Corliss Archer, her goofy boyfriend Dexter
Franklin, her parents and her dog Moronica, as she attempts to navigate high school, society and her dreams. This might sound like the typical teenager comic book but it had a secret weapon in
Al Feldstein. Most of the artwork and scripts for MEET CORLISS ARCHER were created by future
E.C. Comics alumni and MAD MAGAZINE editor Al Feldstein. Among other things Al Feldstein was known for his beautiful drawings of women of which MEET CORLISS ARCHER has plenty.
MEET CORLISS ARCHER began as a radio show that lasted from January of 1943 to September of
1956. According to IMDB, the short lived television series, MEET CORLISS ARCHER was aired on television from July to December of 1954 and had thirty-nine episodes. In the middle of this media saturation, in March of 1948 FOX FEATURE SYNDICATE published the first of three issues of
MEET CORLISS ARCHER.
Although MEET CORLISS ARCHER only lasted three issues, these comics are full of fun, laughter and terrific artwork.
