About the Author

Chris Adamec is a freelance writer and a retired Air Force major. She launched her own adoptive parent group in 1986 and was appointed to the Florida Adoption Advisory Council from 1989-1990. She regularly speaks to organizations and groups about adoption and publishes a newsletter entitled Adoption/Medical News devoted to addressing the medical issues that concern the adoption community. She is the author of There ARE Babies to Adopt and co-author of The Encyclopedia of Adoption. She lives in Palm Bay, Florida, with her husband and children, including an adopted son.
