Overview

About the Author

Ida Jessen is a popular and prize-winning Danish author who lives in Copenhagen on Sjælland, the largest island in Denmark. She has written a number of novels and short stories for children and adults, and has translated numerous works from Norwegian and English into Danish, including Norwegian “crime queen” Karin Fossum’s novels. The Children is her sixth adult novel. It was awarded the Golden Laurels prize (voted for by Danish booksellers) and was nominated for the Prize of the Nordic Council.
Don Bartlett has translated dozens of books of various genres, including eight novels and short story collections by Jo Nesbø and It’s Fine by Me by Per Petterson. His most recent translations include Books One to Three of of the six-volume literary masterwork My Struggle by Karl Ove Knausgaard, published by Archipelago Books, New York. He lives in Norfolk, England.
