Overview

Following the success of their breakthrough Dream Chapter era, South Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together kicked off a new era with The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE. Released in May 2021, the set soared to number one in Korea, Japan, and on the U.S. World Albums chart, due in large part to their hit single "0x1=Lovesong (I Know I Love You)" featuring backing vocals from Seori. At a brisk eight tracks, the Chaos Chapter dabbles in multiple genres, from the aforementioned, rock-edged "0x1" to the breezy disco of "Magic," co-penned by U.K. pop singer Olly Murs. Aside from the delicate "Anti-Romantic," the rest of the effort keeps the energy high with its hybrid blend of electronic, hip-hop, and anthemic rock flourish, resulting in a wholly engaging listen that ends all too soon. ~ Neil Z.
