Overview

Sir E.A. Wallis Budge (1857-1934) was curator of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities at the British Museum from 1894 to 1924. Among his many works of translation and studies of ancient Egyptian religion and ritual is his best-known project, The Egyptian Book of the Dead.

In The Book of the Cave of Treasures, Budge collected a volume of the history of the patriarchs and the kings, and their successors from the creation to the crucifixion of Christ. This volume contains a complete translation of the Syriac text of the compendious history of the world from the creation to the crucifixion of our Lord, which is commonly known as the Cave of Treasures. The writings form the basis for some of the modern understandings of the status of women and other interesting concepts that can be found in other early church writings.

This edition of The Book of the Cave of Treasures is specially formatted with a Table of Contents.
