The Bunker Book 1
In post apocalyptic Washington State, small communities have survived the holocaust. Fighting off roving gangs of raiding slavers and ever-present starvation, lawlessness is now the norm. It is a place where people work to try and rebuild civilization while under the constant threat of attack.
A young boy flees his town after it is taken over by one such gang that killed his father and enslaved his friends. He stumbles upon a hidden military bunker in the wilderness, whose only resident is a crippled soldier who has been there since the Corporation War. Until the arrival of the boy, he'd been managing as best he could. Now he saw a hope for not only his own future, but the future of this little corner of the world. All wrapped up in a dirty, disheveled little boy. The Colonel takes in the boy and trains him to be a soldier, raising him as his own.
After several years, Stan decides to go and rescue his friends who are still in Moses Lake. He then convinces them to return with him to the bunker, where they can rebuild their society in some measure of security.
On a mission to find supplies for their home, the young adventurers enter a cloning laboratory of the very corporation that was the catalyst for the great war. This triggers an alarm that sets a series of events in motion, leading to a showdown between corporate rule and greed, and the human need for independent self determination.
Thus begins The Bunker saga. A series of books that tells the story of the struggle that mankind could possibly face if we are not careful with our resources and the use of supreme power by those who would enslave us with a robotic iron fist.
