Editorial Reviews

MAY 2020 - AudioFile

In this compendium of 17 short stories, the listener is treated to a variety of mysteries, each with a very different focus. It’s a mix typified by stories like “The Reconstruction Club,” set in post-WWI England, in which a group of people gather to reenact intriguing cases, and “The Chocolate Underpants Caper,” the irreverent story of a grievance officer with the American Authors Union who is seeking to do the best for her client in an unconventional way. Each story brings its own characters and atmosphere, with the four narrators doing an excellent job of bringing the works alive while keeping each distinct. They rise to the challenge of successfully pacing their readings, with the result being a fun and diverse listen. K.J.P. © AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine
