CHAPTER 1

We tell the story of a boy, and his name is David, who had God's favor on his life, but who would know it?

He grew up in a family, and he had seven brothers, different for sure in many ways, nothing like the others.

His father Jesse was a man, highly respected by all, but didn't really have a clue, nor knew that God would call.

Where they lived was Bethlehem, a small town on the map, but it was not that small to God, for He could open the tap.

One day the prophet Samuel came into the town, and went into the temple to have a look around.

God spoke a word to Samuel, to seek out Jesse's son, and anoint him to become king, and to get things done.

Samuel was about the Lord's work, and arrived to bless Him;he summoned some people to the temple, and Jesse was one of them.

Jesse arrived with his seven sons, and Samuel looked at them. He said, "Are you sure, there' s only seven, or are you missing a man?"

Jesse said, "I have a son and his name is David. He's tending to the sheep right now, and is very good at it."

Samuel summoned the boy named David to come to him at once. When he saw the young man, he had much to announce.

He anointed David's head and God's Spirit rested on him. Samuel wasn't surprised because that's what God told him.

God's people already have a king, and his name is Saul — not doing very good right now, because he's not on the ball.

He was appointed by God because the people were complaining. Samuel's sons were acting up, and that's why Saul is ruling.

God starts the process to remove Saul from the throne. He switched things up which made Saul moody and alone.

He is in a miserable mood and his servants are nervous, they suggest to him to switch it up and to hire a psalmist.

The psalmist would calm him to the core when he gets so bitter, and take the pressure off of them just to make it easier.

Well, what'll you know David's a psalmist and a good one, too! Opportunity awaits, now watch what God will do.

The servants told Saul about the psalmist, loaded with big skills. He told the servants to hire him, and put a smile on his grill.

His grill in deed busting out, those big pearly whites, to brighten up all his days and knock out the rough nights.

To do it up and do it right, they must go ask his father, to make it all the better for him, before they go and hire.

The servants told Jesse what was up, about the king's request, to hire David to work his skills, as the king's psalmist.

He said okay, honored the request, and off David went. When Saul saw David rolling in, his heart became content.

David played the harp for Saul, and everything went well. That moody spirit got over powered, and eventually fell.

Now Saul is calm, and he is all relaxed, but something starts ah brewing to make him very perplexed.

The Philistine boys are acting up and challenging them to fight. This wasn't part of his plans and now his head is tight.
