Gr 3–6—These six comprehensive volumes provide overviews of the various facets of the U.S. government. For example, Inside Congress explains how Congress was established by the Constitution and includes the creation of the bicameral legislature, while The Bill of Rights explores the importance of protecting people's rights while providing overviews of the amendments. Information is presented in an organized and straightforward manner. However, some information is already dated. A list of female Supreme Court justices in Inside the Supreme Court excludes Amy Coney Barrett; The Electoral College states, "For the 2020 election, the likely swing states are…" and provides current electoral numbers for some states. Photographs and illustrations complement the text. Otherwise, there are no errors, and some of the volumes will be of use to report writers. VERDICT These titles will supply necessary information for researchers and, except for Inside the Supreme Court and The Electoral College, should be considered as needed.
