I really want to tell you that I'm sorry.

I'm sorry for the abuse you endured
I'm sorry for you being raped and feeling like maybe you deserved to have those things happen to you, because of how the people you were in relationships, made you feel

I'm sorry for you not having parents who knew their worth and in return who can show you yours

I'm sorry for the people who chose to settle for and mistreated you and lied to you about everything

I'm sorry for all the times you had to cry yourself to sleep

I'm sorry for the times you felt lost and had no one to lean on but those who hurt you

I'm sorry for all the choices you made that made your life more confusing

I'm sorry for coming into a world that didn't understand how to treat you

I'm sorry for all the burdens you carried by yourself

I'm sorry for all of the neglect
All of the emotional distance
All of the abandonment and you feeling all alone

I'm sorry that you don't feel valued or appreciated by those you are there for

I'm sorry you went through so much disappointment

I'm sorry for all the times you stop believing in yourself

I'm sorry that you felt like giving up

I'm sorry you held on to things that were hurting you
For so long

I'm truly sorry that I wasn't there to save you

Now I'm here to give you all of everything I am
Because you deserve it
and don't worry about giving it back to me
You have given so much
It's okay
I can do without
As long as you are filled with joy..
I love you
