Overview

Cherry Avenue was a street that seemed to be filled with diligent, hardworking and happy children who were whip-smart, loved to study and play sports. Certainly not Betty.
There were the twins, Misha and George, two peas in a pod, then there was the genius, Miriam who recently moved in from far-flung England and lived next door to the twins.
Then there was Betty.
Betty was so lazy, it was beyond belief. She had to be the laziest kid around. But that wasn't the worst of it.
Betty was also a liar, a thief and a truant who managed to con her parents into believing she was a model child they could be proud of. But her facade was about to be exposed, and she would never be the same again.
About the Book
The Better Betty is a plaintive story that highlights the travails of adolescence and the devastating consequence of covert teenage rebellion caused by unwitting parental neglect and ignorance. It is also about the dangers of keeping bad friends, the power of forgiveness and the promise of redemption.

About the Author

C. PIERRE-RUSSELL was born and raised in sunny Miami, FL, it was natural for Cheurlie Pierre-Russell to join the United States Navy. She served for several years with her high watermark coming during Operation Uphold Democracy on the island nation of Haiti, where she worked as a translator. Leaving the Navy was difficult but it was time to start a family and tackle a new career.

C. Pierre-Russell graduated from Georgia State University, with her Bachelor in Arts degree in Sociology. She also earned her Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Walden University. Her desire to strive in education led her to study the development and perception of children’s lives through the influence of social context. In addition, she has studied children’s intellectual development, which influenced her to write children’s books, to help them understand their cognitive way of life. A strong role model for women and children, C. Pierre-Russell is a wife and has three children of her own.

Now, she writes books, which, considering where you’re reading this, makes perfect sense. She writes fiction and non-fiction books for children that cover a wide range of subjects. C. Pierre-Russell enjoys teaching children because she feels that they are our future leaders and deserve only the best. If the time ever permits, you might find her on the road taking the family on a much-deserved vacation.
