Overview

This collection contains six full-length detective novels by pioneering writer Harlan Page Halsey, better known as "Old Sleuth." Old Sleuth was the first dime novel detective, appearing in print in THE FIRESIDE COMPANION as early as 1872. By the 1890s, the popularity of Old Sleuth had led to a stand-alone book series which began to rival western and frontier stories in broad appeal. Includes an active table of contents for easy navigation.

• A Desperate Chance
• A Successful Shadow
• Cad Metti, the Female Detective Strategist
• Oscar the Detective
• The Dock Rats of New York
• Two Wonderful Detectives
