Lance Gordon's running out of time. He's killed the man who murdered his father, and now he has a price on his head. Lance wants to live in peace, but he'll have to go through hell to get there. He heads for the one place no lawman will go - into the territory ruled by the feared king of the cattle rustlers. Taking on the Baron is his last chance - as Lance vows to redeem himself... or die trying.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"In this title originally published in All Western Magazine (Sept. 1936), a mystery man entreats Lance Gordon, on the run from the law since avenging his father’s death, to hunt down a notorious cattle rustler. R.F. Daley, Michael Yurchak, Jim Meskimen, Fred Tatasciore, and Josh Thompson voice this tale, whose heart-racing plot charges at the speed of thrumming horses’ hooves. For listeners keen on fast-paced adventures, who will literally feel the dust kicking up around them." —Library Journal

"...is pure entertainment from first page to last with that L. Ron Hubbard touch giving this tale an enduring reading engagement from beginning to end." —Midwest Book Review

MAY 2010 - AudioFile

A wronged cattle rancher helps gunslinger Lance Gordon out of a jam so he can employ Lance against a local tough known as the "Baron." Our two antiheroes cross lawmen and villains alike as they carry out their maverick mission, encountering stampedes, gunfights, and close brushes with the gallows. Narrator RF Daley leads the way through this story of the Wild West, helped by a full cast, a cinematic score, and ample sound effects. Also part of this production is a short gem, "Reign of the Gila Monster," about an ogre-like man who tries to turn a carousing town dry and the criminal who aims to stop him. Pure western grit will leave dust in your teeth. F.G. © AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine
