About the Author

Esther Manning was born in Ontario, California in 1952. She has three children, ten grandchildren, and two twin great-grandchildren. Childhood abuse was not foreign to her and writing poetry became her escape.

In 1989, Esther went to a therapist and put together a book of her life story and poems. She titled the book "My Castle Wall" (copyright 1991). During this time, she was on the PTA School Board as the Safety/Welfare Commissioner. She put together a resource cassette tape titled, "Mr. Emotion Man", for third graders (copyright 1990).

In 2008, Esther joined up with a non-profit program to stop bullying and prevent suicide (bullycide), as one of her grandchildren was bullied and later took her own life. Esther now shares her poetry and helps youth in this bullycide intervention/prevention program.
