Darkness overshadows the world of Cyrradon, though few seem to know or care. Behind the doors and curtains of the powerful, decisions are being made, the future is being planned. Worshippers of the fell Goddess, Urgrithka the Hollow, seek to complete the work they started eight centuries ago, carving a path for Her dominion. An evil king, seeking rejuvenation and immortality, prepares to sacrifice the welfare of the world under the guidance of his infernal advisors. And beneath it all, the gods have agendas of their own.
But hope is not lost. Recruited by the gods though five powerful amulets, the next generation of heroes are gathering. Lendil, a rogue with city skills and a tormented past; Antonio, a half-elf who learned of his past just as his father was murdered; and Dia, an elven huntress living in the shadow of her older sister. Guided by a dark mage with tangled loyalties they are summoned as avatars of the Noralieth, the elder gods. Along with their companions, they must recover the final amulet, rescue the fifth of their order, and complete the gathering of the Five. Only then can they glimpse their destinies, through the dark and winding prophecies of gods and madmen.
