About the Author

Laurie Tye writes children's books, short stories, and poetry. She holds degrees in both education and American Sign Language. She graduated from Brigham Young Universityand studied in Europe. She is a teacher and interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Tom Mangelsen is one of the world's premeir nature photographers. He has a background in wildlife biology, and received an Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Photographic Society in 2002. He was named North American Nature Photographer of the year in 2000 and BBC's Wildlife Photographer of the year in 1994.
