Overview

A young woman who studies a rare disease. Her Amish ex-fiancé who needs her help. A girl who goes missing.

Mara Gerber left her Amish community a long time ago. She felt that Gott had other plans for her. Now, years later, she's studying medicine, specializing in a rare disease. But her efforts are continually blocked by CEO Ronald Monroe, who wants to own her research for his own purposes.

Things get even more complicated when Mara receives an unexpected letter from the man who had once been her fiancé in her Amish community, Bartholomew Lapp. His little sister is sick with the disease that Mara is studying. When he asks her to take a look at her case, she has no choice but to agree.

Reunited with her Amish past and Bartholomew, the love she tried to forget starts to trickle back...

But everything shatters when Bartholomew's little sister goes missing.

Is Monroe behind her disappearance?

Will they be able to find her before it's too late?

This is a standalone book in a series of Amish suspense romance stories. The books each have a guaranteed HEA, so no cliff-hangers.

About the Author

Katie Fisher is a mom of four and wife to her high school sweetheart, Samuel. After a brief stint as an office assistant in her younger years, she now pours her heart and soul into her stories (and her family, of course). She loves to write romance, sometimes with a dash of suspense, but always sweet.

Having grown up close to an Amish community in Pennsylvania, she fell in love with the simple and fulfilling Amish lifestyle. She expresses this love in her stories, which take place in Amish communities and are always full of inspiration and hope. Favorite things include happily-ever-afters, gingerbread cookies and long evenings on the porch.
