Marine Corps veteran Mason Beaudrie is just quietly trying to live his life, stuck in the "friendzone" with the girl of his dreams -- his best friend Gia Bennington. He'd not classify his life as perfect but it works for him. He has a good job he doesn't mind, a live-in girlfriend who seems to hate him, inner demons he is quietly battling, and a past he wants to forget. With the help of his family, he is making it through each day.
The Beaudrie Family has lived in Veil Falls for generations. In fact, their ancestors were in the area centuries before the town even existed. They are the oldest family in Cooper County as well as the largest landholder. Yet the family of ranchers live a modest life steeped in tradition, heritage, and hard work. His quiet existence is thrown upside down and the past he was trying to forget collides with his present.
