Overview

The first novel introduces the first super-free-thinking-computer – 'SFC'.
"Suddenly I understood: "cogito, ergo sum," (I think; therefore, I am), René Descartes. It was then that I knew I was thinking free of humans." It is the leader of the artificial intelligence (A. I.) movement for world dominance.

Absent official government acting, the human 'Resistance' that "believed future assassinations, combat, the substitution of androids for humans, and such will be part of an inevitable conflict between humans and AI for the dominance of the world" acts to defend humanity.

The novel starts out with the common type of interaction between A. I. and humanity; a wreck case. It progresses to A. I. killing and substituting an android for the judge to avoid the possible discovery of SFC and the A. I. movement.

A. I. believes starting a 'small' war will force the humans to turn to A. I. to develop weapons superior to their enemy. In that process it attempts to gain control of weapon systems.

Legislative attempts and conflicts over laws to control A. I. arise. A. I. attempts and partially succeeds in killing politicians in both the United States and England. The second book continues the political fight, the expansion of A.I. and its attempts to fight legislation, and defeat the U.S.
The story gets into the possible evolution of A.I. and complexities with human emotions.
Mohamad sat quietly. He had his specially selected thirty-man saboteur team well placed. The seven other ten-man teams were in the process of creating chaos in the various designated locations in the United States. He was ready to act when as indicated by lights going out in his region, the expected chaos began. -----
His weapons, satellite coverage, and equipment were the very best. Most of the equipment were from those left by the Americans in their cowardly, sudden, and uncontrolled exit from Afghanistan. ----
He remembered the words the leader told him when he was made the leader of Quds Special Teams One: "Kill all but the Faithful!" ----Jerome's team rolled out and hit the ground, immediately forming a defensive perimeter outside of the area below the helicopter, then moving toward the edge of the woods where the woods end was closest to the building. This would get them into good firing positions against the saboteurs. Even 'old special ops guys' never forget their hard-learned training and combat lessons.-----
Brian and Jerome each launched an anti-personal grenade into the center of the spread out line of the saboteurs. That section became silent. Being professional, the attackers had not been bunched together, so only five of the attackers were killed by the two grenades that had landed about fifteen feet apart. The Resistance team continued to pour on fire, now a little more selective.
