About the Author

Before deciding to write children’s books, Kevin Holcomb first studied business administration at Bowling Green State University. Next, he was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an artillery officer. Later, he completed the Troops to Teachers program, became a middle school math teacher, coached middle school cross country and deployed to Afghanistan. After retiring from the Marine Corps, teaching through COVID and retiring from teaching, he became an online math tutor and started to write...

The Adventures of the Daredevil Grasshopper is based on an original, childhood idea; tucked away inside a small sketchbook (from when Kevin was young). Inside told the stories of a grasshopper and cricket who rode motorcycles and performed daring stunts, inspired by the real world acts of Evel Knievel. His first published book:The Scorpion is the collaborative effort of a small team, including Olga, Bryony, Sumit and Mikey. Together they envision, draft, illustrate, assemble, and choreograph the entire tale. The collective series draws inspiration from famous works such as Maurice Sendak’s: Where the Wild Things Are, Walt Disney’s: Steamboat Willie, and Theodor Geisel’s: The Cat in the Hat. Having worked with children in education, Kevin finds writing children’s books therapeutic and enjoys the artistic process.

Kevin is the father to a son Donovan and has a small Brussels Griffon pup, named Mikey. Kevin ran a marathon and earned his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but currently enjoys painting, spending time with Mikey and working on his book series. Kevin currently resides in Clearwater, Florida. Finally, and most importantly, he is an evangelical Christian.
