Overview

For the first thirteen years of his life, Farrell Wakefield believed his father was crazy. Not your typical old man who wears socks with sandals and listens to lame music kind of crazy, Farrell’s father actually lost a fight with a ceiling fan after accidentally setting a fish tank on fire with a waffle iron. And though it is only natural for a man like this to write tales about a ridiculous world filled with car-sized mosquitoes and talking sea butterflies that wear avocado-shaped hats, it doesn’t mean Farrell ever has to bother reading any of them.

Of course, now that his father has been kidnapped by monsters from one of his books, his preposterous claims that a super villain is on the way to destroy Earth suddenly seem much more credible. Perhaps if Farrell had bothered to read any of his father’s stories, he would also realize that his family is part of a complicated Valenock prophecy. Like most prophecies from Nibbur Znutz, it begins with a ceremonial bowl of fruit and a three-headed groundhog. Unlike the others, this particular prophecy ends with the destruction of Farrell’s entire world.

Now, Farrell’s hopes rest in his scatter-brained younger brother Trevor, perhaps the only person alive crazier than his dad. Trevor, who has the attention span of a caffeinated gerbil and dreams of making millions as a Youtube stuntman, is also the only person capable of guiding Farrell through the dangerous realm of Nibbur Znutz in time to find their dad and hopefully save the world.

About the Author

Sean Frawley is a father, author, faller, teacher, blogger, sleeper, soccer phenom/dreamer, who pets porcupines in his spare time. He enjoys running, jumping into a pool of cold water on a summer day while eating Hot Tamales, pulling weeds in the garden, fly-fishing with a jet pack, swinging in a hammock over a waterfall, skipping rocks in a bubble bath, playing with over-sized lap-dogs named Suki, Fantasy Island football, hugging his kids, playing video games that involve big guns and the color blue, watching the Steelers win, listening to thunder storms while playing canasta underground, catching two-headed minnows in a polluted lagoon, walking around the golf course while looking for over-sized hail, drinking fruit punch and sweet tea (though not at the same time because that would be crazy), listening to music with the volume off, ignoring the telephone, driving on hilly roads while the leaves are changing...into woodchucks, thwarting his wife’s well laid plans for an orderly existence, eating cookies fresh from the oven, sampling cheeses in the grocery store, both pineapple and apple-flavored pine trees, snow cones, Puma and Adidas, fleece jackets, air conditioning on a winter morning, movies that refuse to make a sequel, and making people read long and pointless lists.
