The Adventures of Captain Waffello: Toasty's Revenge

Want to keep children focused during story time?  Try this new approach designed to engage, entertain and represent neurodiverse children such as those diagnosed with ADHD.  Storytime doesn't need to be passive!

Kids get invovled with Captain Waffello--a hero like no other. He’s distractible, super silly, and determined to save the world from ... burnt toast? With the help of his side kick, Sir Rup, Captain Waffello sets out on an epic adventure to foil Toasty the Terrible’s evil plot. The biggest challenge he’ll face? Staying focused!

Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5, author Aiden Dennis understands what it’s like to struggle with focus and attention.  Now age 11, he knows first-hand how difficult it can be to stay on task when it comes to quiet activities like reading. To help kids like himself stay interested and be part of the action, he invites them to help Captain Waffello work through mazes, puzzles, challenges, and
more using a new approach called "Walking Fingers."  This and other engaging activities allow kids to be involved physically and mentally.

Aiden wrote a book that he wishes he had when he was youner.  He delivers a positive and humorous message about self-acceptance and overcoming challenges that makes this fun, goofy, action-packed story relatable to all kids, but in particular to those with ADHD/ADD or similar challenges.
