Texas by a Texan: A realistic guide to livin in, and understanding, the Lone Star State
Look, I'm going to tell you this up front. I wrote this book how I talk (pronounced "taulk"). There's going to be some stories, there's going to be some improper language, improper spellin there might even be some phrases that you don't even understand what they mean. You may not agree with some of the things I tell you but I assure you they're as true as true can be from at least this Texan's perspective.

I'll also tell you not everything's in here. There's no way anyone has ever written a book big enough or long enough to include everything Texan. I'm sure someone has tried and failed.

I've traveled a lot in my years. Everywhere I went people ask me to talk about Texas. They might have been just asking me to talk in general because of the Texan accent? But I digress. Believe me I didn't mind. So I thought, let's put some of these things down with a pencil and paper, as they say, and explain some of the things you're gonna hear while driving through, visiting, moving or even just changing parts of this wonderful state.

By the time we're done I'm sure you'll have somewhat of an understanding, at least some sorta index and maybe somewhat of a dictionary of different things that you probably wanted to know, or maybe didn't want to know, about this great Lone Star State that I, and about 30 million others, call home.

About the Author

I thought it was about time that people should hear about Texas, well, from a Texan. I was born and raised in Texas. A little place called Seagoville, TX, just outside of Dallas. Never lived anywhere else and probably never will. I've travelled all over this great country of ours but there is not a single one of them like the Lone Star State.
