Laura Lippman is the New York Times–bestselling author of acclaimed stand-alone novels and the award–winning Tess Monaghan series. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Baltimore before moving to Columbia, Maryland as a teenager. She earned a degree in journalism at Northwestern University and was a reporter for the Baltimore Sun for twelve years. She has won the Agatha, Anthony, Edgar, Nero, Gumshoe, and Shamus Awards for her works. Her novel Every Secret Thing was made into the 2014 film starting Diane Lane, and Lady in the Lake is set to release as a limited series for Apple TV. Lippman lives in Baltimore with her husband, David Simon, and their daughter.
